Dope Death & other Decisions
MAJOR PROJECT / 2020
In the 2020 election, people in prison were given the right to vote - a right which for the last nine years had been taken from them.
Political candidates don’t visit prisons, people in prison have limited access to the internet and television, and the physical party leaflets that are disrupted in prison are often surface-level manifestos. People in prison, who may have had no previous experience in engaging with politics, may not have the tools to understand what their votes were about, how MMP works, or what different parties stand for.
Dope, Death & other Decisions is a tool kit was designed to increase civic engagement and reconnect people in prison with their communities.
